A governor system (16) is provided that includes a governor (16) having an actuator (38), and a coupler link (40) configured to couple at a first end to the actuator (38) and at a second end to a throttle (32) of an engine (12) being controlled. One or more mechanical characteristics of the coupler link (40), the throttle (32), an actuator arm (48) of the actuator (38), or some combination thereof, are specific to the engine (12) and configured such that each position of the actuator (38) causes a given output of the engine (1) independent of particular characteristics of the engine (12). |
