PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road information display device that is able to reliably deliver road condition information and emergency information to a passing driver in the event of an accident, a disaster, or the like.SOLUTION: The road information display device comprises: a post 1, a display board 2 fixed to the post 1; and a light emitting display part 3. The light emitting display part 3 includes an upper area 4 and a lower area 6 that are used for displaying speed regulation information and character information, and a central area 5 used for exclusively displaying character information. The upper area 4, central area 5, and lower area 6 are seamlessly continuous by being arranged so as to form a group of LEDs 18 in straight lines vertically and laterally at the same dot pitch. The respective display contents of the upper area 4, central area 5, and lower area 6 are altered depending on a normal time, a warning time, or an emergency time. Speed regulation information, road condition information, emergency information and so on are separately displayed in the areas 4 to 6. Alternatively, they are displayed in cooperation of adjacent two or three areas among the areas 4 to 6. |
