In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a method may include querying, by an application program executing on a first information handling system, a second information handling system remotely coupled to the first information handling system for data comprising identities of versions or patches of an operating system certified by a provider of the operating system. The method may also include receiving the data in response to the query. The method may further include updating a support matrix associated with the application program based on the identities of certified versions or patches, the support matrix setting forth identities of versions or patches of the operating system supported by the application program.

1. An information handling system comprising:
a processor; an application program comprising one or more instructions embodied in computer-readable media communicatively coupled to the processor, the instructions for causing the processor to, when read and executed by the processor:
query a second information handling system remotely coupled to the information handling system for data comprising identities of versions or patches of an operating system certified by a provider of the operating system;receive the data in response to the query; andupdate a support matrix associated with the application program based on the identities of certified versions or patches, the support matrix setting forth identities of versions or patches of the operating system supported by the application program.
