PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent power from being unnecessarily consumed in leaving a power source button undepressed without shifting a mode to a power-saving mode since it is troublesome to depress the power source button that is not arranged on the front surface of a device body.SOLUTION: A portable information terminal includes: multiple operation buttons 23-25 that are arranged on the front surface of a device body with a display screen 22 and can be manually switch-operated by a user; and a control unit for performing control to shift a mode to a power-saving mode from a time when the user simultaneously turns on predetermined multiple operation buttons among the operation buttons 23-25 not in a power-saving mode.
