PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a driver a more natural feeling of having knocked against an edge.SOLUTION: An edge knock reaction force current arithmetic unit 58 includes: a threshold memory 58A in which an upper limit threshold &thetas;MAX of a turning angle is stored; a subtractor 58B that computes a difference &Dgr;&thetas; between an actual turning angle &thetas;t and the upper limit threshold &thetas;MAX; a first edge knock reaction force designation block 58C; a differentiator 58D; a turnabout decision block 58E; a multiplier 58F; a differentiator 58G; a multiplier 58H; a limiter 58I; and an adder 58J. The first edge knock reaction force designation block 58C designates a first edge knock reaction force T1 by referencing a map which specifies the first edge knock reaction force T1 that gets gradually larger along with an increase in the difference &Dgr;&thetas; and in which the ratio of the increase in the first edge knock reaction force T1 to the increase in the difference &Dgr;&thetas; is large in a domain, in which the difference &Dgr;&thetas; is large, than in a domain in which the difference is small. The adder 58J computes a final edge knock reaction force T4 on the basis of the first edge knock reaction force T1. |
