The present invention relates to a rechargeable battery which prevents the generation of discharge after a fuse function operation and improves safety. For an example, disclosed is a rechargeable battery that includes an electrode assembly that includes a primary electrode plate, a secondary electrode plate, a separator interposed between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; a primary collector plate that is electrically connected to the first electrode plate and has a fuse part; a secondary collector plate that is electrically connected to the second electrode plate; a case that receives the electrode assembly, the first collector plate, and the second collector plate; a cap assembly that seals the case and has a cap plate; a primary electrode terminal and a secondary electrode terminal which are electrically connected to the first collector plate and the second collector plate and penetrate the cap plate; and an insulating cover member that surrounds a region between the electrode assembly and the cap plate in the first electrode and the fuse part. |
