摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure that can prevent an elastic material from being compressed during liquid pressure load from a master cylinder by a brake actuation operation while sufficiently ensuring the volume of the elastic material, and to prevent the squeal of disk brakes without entailing an increase in a drag resistance and degrading a brake operation feel.SOLUTION: Brake pad shims 5 are provided between brake pads 4 and pressing members 7 and 8 pressing the brake pads 4 against a disk rotor 6, respectively, and each obtained by stacking a metal plate 11 and an elastic material 21. In each disk brake pad shim 5, a plurality of protrusions 12 are provided in the metal plate 11 to be distanced from one another, and a plurality of through-holes 22 making the protrusions 12 penetrate are provided in the elastic material 21. During brake actuation in which the metal plates 11 are pressed by the pressing members 7 and 8, the protrusions 12 are arranged to penetrate the elastic materials 21, and the elastic materials 21 include portions 21a continuously extending in a sliding direction of the brake pads 4.
