PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved sealing assembly which is fitted into an annular opening, for example, an opening on a wall of a manhole to achieve sure sealing.SOLUTION: A sealing assembly 20 is provided with an expansion band 22 having an arcuate band part 24 and a pair of threaded end parts 26A, 26B formed at opposing ends of the arcuate band part 24. The arcuate band part 24 and the threaded end parts 26A, 26B are integrally formed as a single component. A pair of oppositely threaded nuts formed so as to be screwed with a bolt 30 having corresponding oppositely threaded ends are fixed in the threaded end parts 26A, 26B. Rotation of the bolt 30 moves the threaded end parts 26A, 26B simultaneously in a direction away from each other or in a direction of attracting each other (depending on the rotation direction of the bolt 30), whereby the whole outer shape of the arcuate band part 24 is expanded or contracted. |
