PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle failure recording device and a vehicle failure recording method, which enable prevention of overwriting/erasing of a given record of failure occurring to a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle failure recording device 12 includes: a condition record memory 6 for recording a signal related to an operation status of an electric vehicle collected at a given cycle; a failure record memory 7 having a storage area for storing a failure record obtained every time a failure occurs; a control table 8 for storing inhibition information specifying a storage area inhibiting overwriting, of the storage area, and a period of inhibiting the overwriting; and failure recording means 5 for selecting a storage area not inhibiting overwriting on the basis of the inhibition information, recording the signal during a period including the time at which a failure occurs as the failure record in the failure record memory, and recording, in the control table, the inhibition information for inhibiting overwriting of the selected storage area for a given period, if the failure is a given failure. |
