PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for improving the chroma of a secondary color with a smaller toner laid-on level.SOLUTION: Reference numeral 100 is a heating unit. Reference numeral 101 is a cylindrical fixing film (first rotary body) having an electromagnetic induction heat generating layer. Reference numeral 102 is a film guide member and the cylindrical fixing film 101 is loosely externally fitted to the circumference of the film guide member 102. A magnetic field generating part comprises an exciting coil 103 and a magnetic core (iron core) 104 disposed inside the film guide member 102. An alternating magnetic flux is generated by flowing an alternating current in the exciting coil 103 and the electromagnetic induction heat generating layer generates heat by an eddy current generated in the electromagnetic induction heat generating layer. It is structured so that an angle ω(°) formed by a direction (X direction) perpendicular to the surface of a fixing nip part and the pressure application direction (Y direction) of the first rotary body with respect to a second rotary body is larger than 0°. |
