PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of performing control of a fan for preventing temperature of devices and inside a controller box from increasing during transition to an energy-saving mode without impairing energy-saving effect.SOLUTION: A fan control method comprises the steps of: supplying power to fans 107 to 109 from a power supply system that is not blocked during an energy-saving mode; and holding energization input to transistors 115 to 117 that control energization to the fans 107 to 109 from an ASIC 102 that operates even in the energy-saving mode for a predetermined period by delay circuits 111 to 113 so as to maintain rotation of the fans. Accordingly, a CPU or the like in a main control unit can be cooled, and failure such as deterioration and thermal runaway can be prevented even after transition to the energy-saving mode. |
