PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dredged sediment separation device capable of efficiently separating dredged sediment into a foreign matter such as chips and waste and reusable sediment, and a method for separating dredged sediment.SOLUTION: A dredged sediment separation device comprises: a rotary support body 2 installed underwater; a bottomed cylindrical cage body 3 for separation installed in the rotary support body 2; and power means 4 for rotating the cage body 3 for separation. The cage body 3 for separation includes a sediment input part 22 into which sediment mixed with a foreign matter is input, a sediment recovery part 23 arranged under the sediment input part 22, and a partition plate part 24 arranged so as to separate the sediment input part 22 and the sediment recovery part 23 from each other, and a net-like transmission part 27 is formed in the partition plate part 24. The dredged sediment input to the sediment input part 22 is separated into a sediment component 26 and a foreign matter 22 and the separated sediment component 26 passes through the transmission part 27 and is settled in the sediment recovery part 23 on a bottom side, by rotating the cage body 3 for separation. |
