PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which has high luminous efficiency, a low drive voltage and a long life.SOLUTION: A light emitting element of the present embodiment is a light emitting element having an EL layer between a pair of electrodes and includes in the EL layer, a material from which product ions derived from a compound obtained by cleavage of bonds at the 7-position of dibenzo[c,g]carbazole skeleton are detected when a component of ionized precursor ions is accelerated by energy within a range of not less than 30 eV and not more than 70 eV and collided to an argon gas in LC/MS analysis.
