<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a library device that, if a label reading is performed after a magazine is inserted into the library device, the increase in the number of cartridges causes an increase in time required for bringing the library device into an operation state.SOLUTION: A library device includes: a magazine for storing a plurality of cartridges; a rack in which the magazine is loaded; a conveyance mechanism for detaching and attaching the cartridges from and to the magazine; a reader which is held by the conveyance mechanism and reads identifiers provided on the cartridges; and a control device for controlling the movement of the conveyance mechanism so as to complete, before the magazine is inserted or discharged to or from an insertion hole of the rack, the movement of the reader to a position where, during the operation of inserting the magazine into the rack, the reader can continuously read the identifiers of the cartridges from the identifier of the first cartridge at the start of the insertion of the magazine to the identifier of the last cartridge at the completion of the insertion of the magazine.</p> |
