PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a rubber composition for suppressing increase in the viscosity of an unvulcanized rubber composition, improving reactivity of a coupling agent with a rubber component, and achieving good processability of the unvulcanized rubber composition and excellent low heat build-up.SOLUTION: The production method of a rubber composition comprises compounding a rubber component (A) comprising at least one rubber selected from natural rubber and a diene-based rubber, a filler comprising an inorganic filler (B), a silane coupling agent (C), thiourea (D) and zinc oxide (E). The rubber composition is kneaded in a plurality of stages. In the first stage of kneading, the rubber component (A), the whole or a part of the inorganic filler (B), the whole or a part of the silane coupling agent (C), the thiourea (D) and the zinc oxide (E) are kneaded; and a compounding amount of the zinc oxide (E) in the rubber composition in the first stage of kneading is 0.5 to 4 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component (A). |
