PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit which has less light leakage, and a display device which is improved in display quality.SOLUTION: A display device includes a display panel and a backlight unit. The backlight unit includes light sources LE1 and LE2 and a light guide LG. The light guide includes first and second incidence planes IS1 and IS2, and a side face CS3 placed between the first and second incidence planes IS1 and IS2. The first incidence plates IS1 and the second incidence plane IS2 receive light from the light sources LE1 and LE2. Inclined angles &thetas;1 that the first incidence plane IS1 and the second incidence plane IS2, and an extension surface of the side face CS3 contain are larger than 20° and smaller than 30°. The first incidence plane IS1 and the second incidence plane IS2 provide serration patterns, respectively. |
