PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which solves the following problems: in conventional supply control, agitation performance is reduced in a small developer container, and toner concentration is not stabilized.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a latent image forming unit which forms an electrostatic latent image on an image carrier by use of image data of a print job including the image data, the number of sheets to be printed, and the number of pixels for printing; a developing unit which develops the electrostatic latent image by two-component developer; a toner cartridge for housing toner to be supplied to the developing unit; a toner transfer unit which transfers the toner from the toner cartridge to the developing unit; a calculation unit which determines toner supply time length required for a print job from the toner transfer unit to the developing unit on the basis of the number of pixels, to determine job continuation time of the print job on the basis of the number of sheets to be printed; and a drive control unit which divides the toner supply time length calculated by the calculation unit equally in the job continuation time, to cause the toner transfer unit to supply toner separately within a plurality of times having the same time length. |
