PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator which can attenuate at least vertical vibration.SOLUTION: A seismic isolator 1 comprises: a storage tank 2 constructed on the foundation and stores silicone oil s; a seismic isolation support frame 3 which attenuates vertical vibration in the storage tank 2 by the silicone oil s; and weights 19 immersed into silicone oil s in an auxiliary storage tank 7 from centers of respective sides of a base plate 6 of a construction 5. The seismic isolation frame 3 comprises: a bearing 14 for horizontally and movably supporting the construction 5; a holding plate 13 for rollingly supporting the bearing 14; and a base plate 11 connected to the holding plate 13 via a support column 12. An area of the base plate 11 is slightly smaller than a bottom of the storage tank 2, and the base plate vertically vibrates at an earthquake to attenuate vibration by the resistance of the silicone oil s, converts the horizontal vibration of the base plate 6 to the vertical vibration by wires 18 and the weights 19, and attenuates the vertical vibration. |
