The invention relates to a method for detecting a maintenance situation (110) in a two-wheeled vehicle (100) and to a device for carrying out such a method. The invention is characterized in that the motor, which is located on the two-wheeled vehicle (100) and is provided for at least temporarily supporting the movement of the two-wheeled vehicle, is actuated depending on the detected maintenance situation (110). Such a maintenance situation can be detected by detecting the position of the two-wheeled vehicle using a first sensor variable (S1).
