Gas generators partially fill the cladding elements with respective nitrogen gas and carbon dioxide gas during reception of a trigger signal so that the nitrogen gas is partially outputted as the content of the cladding elements, and the carbon dioxide gas is partially outputted as the content of the cladding elements into the chamber. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing safety measures during gas release from a battery.
