The camshaft assembly is composed of camshaft (2). A camshaft adjuster (1) has control valve piston (5) that is provided for selectively opening and closing a pressure chamber (A) of camshaft adjuster. An actuator (3) is provided for shifting the control valve piston. The control valve piston and actuator are arranged at opposite ends of the camshaft. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an internal combustion engine of motor vehicle; and (2) a method for adjusting phase angle between crankshaft and camshaft.
