PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition capable of improving physical properties such as improving rolling resistance performance and wet performance of a tire in a good balance.SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises 100 parts by mass of the following rubber component and 5 to 150 parts by mass of filler. The rubber component comprises a modified diene-based rubber having at least one connecting group selected from a group of connecting groups of a carbonyl group and a hydroxyl group in the molecule, and having such a structure that diene-based polymer chains including an epoxy group produced by oxidation in a double bond portion of the main chain are connected by the above connecting group.
