<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that adjusts a control voltage of toner density detection means, and can determine the occurrence of abnormality in adjustment of the control voltage in an unexpected situation where the toner density of a developer in a developing device is higher than a previously estimated toner density.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects a toner density of a developer in a developing device with toner density detection means 26, and controls a toner supply device on the basis of a detection result. The image forming apparatus adjusts a control voltage Vtcnt applied to the toner density detection means 26 so that a relationship between output of the toner density detection means 26 and the toner density of the developer becomes a predetermined relationship. After the adjustment, the image forming apparatus compares a value of the control voltage after the adjustment with a pre-set reference value.</p> |
