Embodiments of the invention provide methods, devices and computer programs arranged to facilitate provisioning of system information to a user equipment in a communications network. One embodiment comprises an apparatus for use in maintaining system information at a user equipment in a communications network, the system information corresponding to a plurality of cells, the plurality of cells comprising a serving cell currently serving the user equipment and a neighbouring cell that is a neighbour of the serving cell, the user equipment comprising a memory arranged to store at least system information corresponding to the neighbouring cell, wherein the apparatus comprises a processing system arranged to cause the apparatus to: whilst being served by the serving cell, receive a notification, said notification comprising data indicative of a change to system information corresponding to the neighbouring cell; and thereafter selectively monitor for a BCCH corresponding to the neighbouring cell, whereby to update the stored system information corresponding to the neighbouring cell. |
