An embodiment of the present invention relates to a handoff method, source communication node and target communication node, the method comprising: a source communication node transmits to a target communication node a handoff request carrying the identifier information of a user equipment (UE), the target communication node containing a primary target communication node and/or a secondary target communication node; the source communication node receives handoff request acknowledgement information transmitted by the primary target communication node or the secondary target communication node, or receives the handoff request acknowledgement information obtained after the primary target communication node and the secondary target communication node exchange information in response to the handoff request information; the source communication node switches, according to the handoff request acknowledgement information, the data stream corresponding to the UE and borne by the source communication node, such that the data stream is borne by the target communication node. Therefore, the present invention realizes parallel handoff between communication nodes on a source side and a target side, and can directly transmit, without forwarding, the GTP information for establishing data forwarding between the communication nodes on the source side and the target side, thus reducing signaling overhead. |
