PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the occurrence of streak-like image disturbance occurring in an image during transfer, and image defects in which toner is scattered on a rear side in a conveyance direction of a recording medium.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an intermediate transfer belt that is laid over a plurality of rollers, and conveys a toner image on an outer peripheral surface; a secondary transfer member that secondarily transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt to a recording medium; an opposing member that is brought into contact with an inner peripheral surface of the intermediate transfer belt to be opposite to the secondary transfer member; and changing means for changing, on the basis of paper attribute information on the recording medium, a contact width formed by the intermediate transfer belt and the secondary transfer member at a secondary transfer position where the secondary transfer member is in contact with the opposing member across the intermediate transfer belt. |
