This fuel system is provided with: a fuel pump (3) which comprises a constant volume pump and which has a discharge flow rate which changes in response to a variation in the rotational speed of the drive shaft of the fuel pump; a boost pump (4) which is disposed upstream of the fuel pump (3), comprises a constant volume pump, and has a higher discharge flow rate per rotation of the drive shaft of the boost pump than the fuel pump (3); a single electric motor (5) which rotationally drives both the drive shaft of the fuel pump (3) and the drive shaft of the boost pump (4) while the rotational speed of the fuel pump (3) and the rotational speed of the boost pump (4) are matched; a return flow passage (7) which connects the upstream side and the downstream side of the boost pump (4); and a relief valve (8) which is provided in the return flow passage (7) and which opens when pressure inside the return flow passage (7) exceeds a reference pressure. |
