<p>[Problem] For radio communication apparatuses using spatial multiplex MIMO system, it was difficult to reduce the sizes of the apparatuses while maintaining the communication performance. [Solution] A radio communication apparatus comprises: a directivity-variable antenna that has antenna elements for transmitting/receiving radio signals having predetermined bands, the directivity of each antenna element being variable; a directivity control means that switches the directivity of the directivity-variable antenna at a predetermined switching rate; and a modulation/demodulation means that performs one of modulation and demodulation of the radio signals when the directivity has been switched at the predetermined switching rate. The switching rate is an integral multiple of a sampling rate that is determined in accordance with a band.</p> |
