The fitting (10) has a driving bar arrangement (11) actuated over a fitting gear box that is guided on a turned-over rail leg. Ends of the drive rod arrangement form a rod-end (17). A detachable protective cap (19) is attached on the rod-end. The detachable protective cap abuts in a fitted state at an end (18) of the turned-over rail leg. The protective cap is made of an elastic material and plastic. The protective cap is locked in two different positions with turned-over rail leg. A latching projection (29) provides a hollow cylindrical cross section.
