<p>Camera mounting apparatus 10 comprises a support element 12 and a camera element 14 which is supportable by the support element 12. One of the support element 12 and 5 the camera element 14 has a male connector part 24 and the other of the support element 12 and the camera element 14 has a female connector part 26 which is shaped to receive the male connector part 24 as a close fit. The male connector part 24 includes a boss 28 having at least one radially-outwardly projecting indexing locator 38, and a first coupling part 34 of a magnetic coupler 36 provided within the boss 28. The female 10 connector part 26 includes a boss opening 54 having a complementary inner wall for receiving the indexing locator 38, and a second coupling part 62 of the magnetic coupler 36 provided within the boss opening 54 and on which the first coupling part 34 is seatably engagable. The camera element 14 is indexably panable relative to the support element 12 via the indexing locator 38 being selectably engagable with the 15 complementary inner wall, and unintentional lift-off of the camera element 14 from the support element 12 is prevented or inhibited by the magnetic coupler 36.</p> |
