PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of casting semi-molten metal by light metal such as aluminum alloy with high quality and at low cost, and also to provide a technique of the casting apparatus. SOLUTION: The method is materialized by a casting stage WO2 (WO4, WO5 or WO6) of semi-molten metal 50 in which a solid phase component and a liquid phase component coexist, including a stage of casting the semi-molten meal 50 into a prescribed shape by "mold clamping" of a die 2. The casting stage WO2 (WO4, WO5 or WO6) is composed of a high-speed molding process W21 in which, after the semi-molten metal 50 is cast in a cavity 2c inside the die 2, the "mold clamping" of the die 2 is performed at high speed with some interference left and a high pressure molding process W22 in which, after the high speed molding process 21 is completed, the remaining interference is clamped by a higher pressure than the high-speed molding process W21.
