The crash structure (10a) has a deformation element (22) provided in a region of a wheel housing of a vehicle and releasing a wheel movement in a deactivated state. The deformation element transfers a wheel (24) arranged in the wheel housing into a predetermined wheel position in an activated state. An interrupt system (34a) prevents transmission of wheel position change on a steering wheel (31). Pyrotechnic systems (26, 35) i.e. pyrotechnic actuators, are provided for activation of the deformation element and the interruption system. The pyrotechnic systems include a detonator (35.1).
