An anchor plate 1, for a column 6 (especially a lighting column), comprising a base 2, means to secure the base to or in the ground, and a tubular raised section 7 extending upwardly from the base to receive an end of the column. The raised section having a concentric flange 4 which, in use, abuts an adjacent surface of the column, providing a closed cavity 3 under the flange between the column and the anchor plate. It may have a second flange 5 below the first, the cavity being formed between these upper and lower flanges. A method is also claimed of securing a column to the anchor plate by mounting one end of the column to the raised section, injecting adhesive through an aperture (fig 2, 8) into the cavity, allowing it to cure, drilling through the aperture to provide a bore and placing a metal conductor through the bore to electrically connect the column to the anchor plate. |
