A waterproof shield is fitted to a cable joint in a wall-mounted cable conduit to resist moisture ingress from moisture being derived from the wall 11 on which the conduit is mounted. The shield may comprise a main portion 32 to go behind a cap 24, and an extension 34 to go behind conduit 10. The cap may cover a joint 50 between an external telecommunications cable 46 and an internal cable 26 entering a building through opening 48. The shield may be retro-fitted to an existing conduit, or may be integral with the conduit. |
