摘要 <p>A method for coordinating data communication between a first and second user device via a first and second server. The second server generates and transmits a unique identifier and a resource location to the first user device via the first server; the first user device requests a resource at the resource location; the second server transmits the resource including a second executable component to the first user device; the first user device executes the second component to create a connection (such as a two-way socket) between the first user device and the second server; the second user device receives the identifier; the second user device uses the identifier to claim the connection to the first user device from the second server; and the second server coordinates data communication between the first and second user device. A system, server, user devices and computer program are also disclosed. The preferred embodiment may be used a means of online payment where a user initiates a transaction via a webpage on their computer, which then displays a unique identifier being QR or 2D barcode generated by the payment server (and returned to the computer). The user utilises their smartphone to scan the QR code and transmits the image along with a unique pin code in order to authenticate the user and authorise the request.</p>
