A display apparatus and a method performed by the display apparatus are capable of collecting and analyzing a conversational service log to recommend suitable content to a user. The display apparatus includes: a communication portion which communicates with an external device using a predetermined protocol, a user interface (UI) to receive a request signal from a user, a display, a sensor to collect log information and a tendency profile, and a controller to control the operations of the display apparatus including transmitting the data collected through the sensor to an external device, receiving a media recommendation request signal through the UI and transmitting the media recommendation request signal to the external device, receiving recommendation information from the external device, and displaying the received recommendation information. |
