<p>A link between a first encoded image data in a first encoded video stream and second encoded image data in a second encoded video stream is provided. The first and second encoded image data correspond to a same spatial area of the images of the first and second encoded video streams. The first encoded image data is replaced with the second encoded image data in the first stream. The link may be deleted following the substitution. The encoded images may have at least one portion encoded with a higher resolution than the other portions, the higher resolution being in the second encoded stream. Each one of the streams may be encoded with a low resolution base layer and an enhancement layer with the same respective image portion encoded with a higher resolution than the other image portions. Each image of the streams may be subdivided into portions according the a same subdivision grid, where the first and second image data correspond to a same image portion of the grid. A high resolution display of specific region of interest is provided without a priori knowledge of the position of the region of interest.</p> |
