In a facade for a building, which, acting as a rear-ventilated facade, covers the outside of an exterior wall of a building (3) and comprises a retaining structure having upright posts (3) and horizontal cross members and also comprises a facade panel (4), which is supported by the retaining structure and consists of a translucent material, wherein an illuminating device (7) is provided behind the front side of the facade panel (4), the invention proposes that a barrier area (16), reducing the luminous radiation, is arranged at the edge of the facade panel (4), and that a translucent region of the facade panel is provided at a distance from the edge of the facade panel (4), and that the illuminating device (7) is arranged such that it provides illumination through this translucent region. |
