Provided are an array substrate with a COT structure capable of improving the transmittance of a liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof. The array substrate includes a thin film transistor which is formed on a substrate, a color filter which is formed on the thin film transistor, a planarization layer which is formed on the color filter, a passivation layer which is formed on the planarization layer, a contact hole which is formed on the color filter, the planarization layer, and the passivation layer, exposes a drain electrode of the thin film transistor, and includes one wall with a step shape, and a column spacer which is formed on the passivation layer to fill the contact hole. |
