The device has a trunk (3) that is made of a single-piece, where the trunk is provided with a section and length to cover a flap (V) of a swimming pool e.g. in-ground swimming pool, in a rolled-up position. The trunk is mounted with articulation capability so as to provide free access to the flap in the rolled-up position. A free space for the passage of the flap for its unfolding is provided between one of a set of longitudinal sides of the trunk and a wall of a basin (B) along which the flap is mounted in a closed position of the trunk.
