The present invention relates to a C-shaped hollow fiber and a manufacturing method thereof. More particularly, hollow is not destroyed in a manufacturing process as the C-shaped hollow fiber has excellent strength, and the present invention can maximize thermal insulation and lightness as the C-shaped hollow fiber has hollowness improved greatly compared with traditional hollow fibers. Moreover, dyeing defects by uneven elution are not generated as easily soluble polymeric materials do not remain in manufactured C-shaped hollow fibers, and decrease in the performance of the hollow fibers can be minimized as the hollow is not decreased by uneluted easily soluble polymers. Moreover, the intrinsic functions of the hollow fibers such as thermal insulation and lightness can be fully realized as the hollows in the fibers are not destroyed and the shapes of the hollows are not changed after postprocessing and weaving if the specific conditions of the present invention are satisfied, and the C-shaped hollow fibers have excellent quality as the C-shaped hollow fibers are not attacked by alkali in the process of elution.
