The table (1) has a reception plate (2) for a packing (3). A motorized system (7) ensures the rise and descent of the reception plate. A control unit (16) controls the motorized system. A determination device (17) determines a set of anatomical parameters of an operator (4). The control unit has a comfort altimetry determination unit for the operator according to the anatomical parameters of the operator. The motorized system is controlled so as to position and maintain a placement plane (P) with regard to comfort altimetry irrespective of height of a packing pile. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling altimetry controlled handling table.
