Synthesizing glycerin-based poly(hydroxy urethane) compounds comprises contacting acrylic ester of glycerin-based cyclo-carbonate and a primary organic amine compound comprising amine group consisting of primary and secondary amine groups under suitable conditions to form a glycerin-based poly-cyclo-carbonate compound by adding amino group of primary amino organic compound on an ethylenic double bond of acrylic ester of glycerin-based cyclo-carbonate, and performing polymerizing step in which glycerin-based poly cyclo-carbonate compound is reacted with secondary organic amine compound. Synthesizing glycerin-based poly(hydroxy urethane) compounds comprises contacting a quantity of at least one acrylic ester of glycerin-based cyclo-carbonate and a quantity of a primary organic amine compound comprising at least one amine group consisting of primary amine group of formula (-NH 2) and a secondary amine group of formula (-NH-) under suitable conditions in order to form a glycerin-based poly cyclo-carbonate compound having at least two glycerin-based cyclo-carbonate groups by adding the amino group of the primary amino organic compound on an ethylenic double bond of acrylic ester of glycerin-based cyclo-carbonate, and performing polymerizing step in which glycerin-based poly cyclo-carbonate compound is reacted with a quantity of at least a secondary organic amine compound comprising at least two amine groups consisting of primary amine group of formula (-NH 2) and a secondary amine group of formula (-NH-) in order to form glycerin-based poly(hydroxy urethane) compound. An independent claim is included for glycerin-based poly(hydroxy urethane) compounds having a secondary hydroxyl containing group of formula (R5-N(R6)-C(=O)-O-CH 2-CH(OH)-CH 2-O-C(=O)-CH(R2)-CH 2-N[(R7)(R8)]) (I) and a primary hydroxyl containing group of formula (R5-N(R6)-C(=O)-O-CH(CH 2OH)-CH 2-O-C(=O)-CH(R2)-CH 2-N[(R7)(R8)]) (II) or (R5-N(R6)-C(=O)-O-CH 2-CH(CH 2OH)-O-C(=O)-CH(R2)-CH 2-N[(R7)(R8)]) (III). R2 : H or methyl; and R5-R8 : H or organic substituent consisting of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen or nitrogen.
