The present invention relates to a video display device and a method of controlling the same, and more particularly, to a video display device to provide speed search of a video and a method of controlling the same. To this end, the disclosed embodiment provides the video display device including a display unit to display a video; a sensor unit to detect user input and transfer an input signal according to a detected result to a processor; and a processor to provide a video search interface. The video search interface includes an image display interface, a thumbnail search interface to display a plurality of thumbnails with respect to the video displayed on the image display interface; and a thumbnail control interface to control at least one of the image display interface and the thumbnail search interface. The thumbnail control interface includes a circular controller. The thumb control interface controls an image display in the image display interface according to rotation of the circular controller, and controls display of at least one among an image displayed in the image display interface and a plurality of thumbnails displayed on the thumbnail search interface according to a location relation between the thumbnail search interface and the thumbnail control interface. |
