The cylinder (10) has an end (64) provided with an outlet opening (66), and a body (62). A piston (12) is slidably mounted in the body along a longitudinal axis (A), and has a head (14). A metering chamber (68) is defined between the end of the cylinder and the head. The head has a cavity (50), and the piston comprises a fluid inlet conduit (24) and a fluid outlet conduit (26), where the inlet and outlet conduits project into the cavity of the head. The inlet conduit supplies fluid i.e. colored fluid, into the cavity, and the outlet conduit discharges the fluid from the cavity. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a volumetric analysis system (2) a method for cleaning a volumetric analysis system.
