A manned or autonomously-operated craft commonly referred to as an airship or dirigible or maneuverable balloon that is of mono- or multi-hull contruction, and sustains lift from rigid or semi-rigid envelopes or gasbags containing helium or hydrogen or other similar lighter-than-air gas, or may utilize hot gases to samely generate aerostatic lift. Further, said craft consists of a singular or plurality of sails or similar air-foil device with associated mast, boom and rigging assemblies for main propulsion and a plurality of electrically-powered thrusters spaced on the hulls to provide manuevering means. Also, the present invention is also mounted with a single or a plurality of wind turbines to generate onboard electric power and operate ship systems of a mechanical nature. Constructed in such manner, the invention will find application in cargo and passenger transport and remote observation endeavors. |
