The device (1) has a polarization separation unit comprising polarization separating cubes (2) placed in square. Wave plates separate the cubes in pairs, where the device deviates an input optical signal from an input path (10) of the device toward measurement paths (12-1-12-4) and a return optical signal toward a single output path (11) of the device. Separating interfaces (41) of each cube are arranged in a crossed manner, so that the input optical signal enters into the cubes by which the return optical signal leaves the cubes. An independent claim is also included for a remote sensing system.
