<p>The method involves storing a reducing agent in a container (71) of an injection unit (70), and measuring pH of contents of the container such that an injection of the container contents into an exhaust line (30) of an internal combustion engine (1) is controlled according to the measured pH. The injection of the container contents into the exhaust line is blocked when the measured pH exceeds a predetermined pH range such as higher than 10 or lower than 9, so that an alarm is emitted for a driver of a car. The alarm is comprised of an indicator light (80) visible by the driver. An independent claim is also included for a powertrain.</p> |
