PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CBN armor cutting tap which realizes improvement of durability and formation of shorter cutting chips without impairing machinability of a cutting edge of the cutting tap and the accuracy of formation of female screws.SOLUTION: A method of producing a CBN armor cutting tap comprises forming, in order, a base plated layer 13 on the surface of a base metal 11, a temporary plated layer 16 of a layer thickness of 12μm or smaller which is composed of a temporarily plated CBN abrasive grain group 15 consisting of one layer of CBN abrasive grains 14 of #1500, with grain sizes 8-12μm and an average grain size of 10.16μm, on the base plated layer 13, a flush type plated layer 20 for fixation of the CBN abrasive grain group 15, with 60-90% of the layer thickness of the CBN abrasive grain group 15 being in a flush-type form and an outermost surface plated layer 33 dispersed with fine CBN abrasive grains 32 of a grain size 0.98μm finer than the CBN abrasive grains 14 and retained.
