The battery has rechargeable galvanic cells electrically connected in series. A housing (100) accommodates the cells. A cover assembly (110) is connected with an opening of the housing, and includes a cover plate (111) that covers the opening of the housing. A connection between the cover plate and the housing includes an adhesive joint (120) with a sealing substance (121). The substance contains microcapsules filled with color particles. The color particles absorb UV-light and re-emit the UV-light as a visible light. The battery is electrically and mechanically connected with a motor car. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a battery.
